Fluffy Bobbin - MUA Fur-Effect

So some of my instagram followers will have spotted these fur-effect nails already, but I thought I would do a post to show you them properly. I love the idea of faux fur nails, and purchased two of them almost straight away! They have a small range of colours which you can check out here, plus the have super cute names!

The image above shows the two colours I purchased and the inside of the pot. There is no need for the little filter really, as for application you need to put your finger into the pot of furryness.

So to start off with I did just one nail in the evening to test it out, I woke up the next day and had a shower - later I noticed that the fur had come off slightly. So I decided to tweet MUA to ask what the effect water has on the fur:

I wasn't entirely satisfied with the answer as I had already experienced that fur effect coming off, and the ellipsis made it feel like it was the most obvious answer to my question. So in case anyone else has any questions about application there is a video on their website but also if you post your questions below I will answer as best as I can from my experience so far.

In case anyone else is wondering about getting them wet, from what I have found it is fine to get them wet but just take care when drying. Towel drying will take some of the fur-effect off, dab dry so not to pull off any fur. Some bits do come off through out the day so it will need topping up, but it doesn't need to be left to dry so I personally do not see this as a problem.

On a final note try not to flip out when you are eating finger food, you have not somehow picked up a furry insect of some sort - you have furry nails remember. This is more of a note to self if I am honest.

Have any of you tried them out yet? Let me know if you have any questions!

  3. I think the looks so great, I just find the idea of them bizarre.

so would it come off in the shower then? Is it like a one day and then top up?

    1. They do feel a little odd.
It doesn't totally come off in the shower, its more that the fluffiness has been removed. It lasts but I think you'd need to top up after a couple of days - so not a long lasting product really. I think adding a little nail varnish and reapplying isn't as much hassle as reapplying a chipped polish x

    1. Yes they do look fab and would be great for a night out. In terms of the shower, it didn't just fall off it was more due to me not taking care when washing my hair and drying etc. It's does not just come off in water, just needs a little extra care! :) x

  8. I keep hearing about this, but I'm not 100% sold to be honest. Fur on nails just seems wrong to me, I'm afraid! x

  11. CRAZY nails - wow! Definitely going to try this. Does it get annoying though after a while as the fur comes off everywhere?

    1. It's pretty cool, I didn't really notice it coming off really, it's more that the fur fades or loses it's fluffiness! xx
