A Vintage Ruffle Hem Skirt
Tee - Missguided
Bralette - Primark
Skirt - Vintage
Sandals - New Look
I bagged this skirt while vintage shopping in Vancouver - watch my Canadian thrift shopping experience. It is very clearly handmade, you can tell by the stitching around the waistline, I’m not convinced it is a vintage piece, possible made from a vintage fabric. However that didn’t make me want to put it back on the rack, I feel like something that has been made by hand is even more of a special find. It makes me think more of its previous owner.
It has also inspired me to create more pieces for myself, I have a sewing machine and I’ve made myself short, skirts etc in the past but not so much recently. Sometimes I buy dresses in bigger sizes and make them smaller. I did sewing at school but I’m not really an expert. I think I’d like to spend some more time practising my skills to create some pieces for myself. It’s thrifty and I’m hoping the end result will be very satisfying!
I already follow a few DIY blogs but do you have any recommendations for any blogger babes that have tutorials?
